Volunteers
SPLR is now fully operational. We are now actively looking for
volunteers to operate the railway. No experience, that's not a
problem, as any necessary training (no pun intended) is available.
We want guards, ticket sellers, platform staff and people to just chat
to visitors. No hard work is involved, the present gang can look after
that side of things (unless you're really keen).

We have recently been reminded that, due to recent Government
regulations, we are, very regrettably, barred from welcoming young
volunteers, under the age of 16, who are not accompanied by an
responsible adult. Despite the fact that most of us have children and
grandchildren, without CRB clearance, we are not considered
responsible adults.
As a result of this, we have lost 2 very enthusiastic youngsters.
Little wonder that this hobby is dying.
